Canyon De Chelly, Arizona

I would like to share some of my adventures from the photo shoots where I gather reference materials for the oil painting I love to do. Canyon De Chelly is in the heart of Navajo Land in Arizona, one of my favorite places to visit. It is always
an adventure! This summer (for the first time) I learned to four wheel drive with my husband's GMC dually. I am not giving any details today, because I'm sure he will be reading this at some point in time, and I will need the truck for other trips! This photo is one of the Navajo guides that are required when visiting the canyon. We were sitting at Martini Rock, known for it's "Big Hangover" as you see here!

This is my dear friend Carmen Hunter. She is a fabulous photographer, dedicated to sharing her Navajo traditions through her eyes with photography in and around the canyon. She's a great person to be shooting photos with! Thank you Carmen.

Here's a sneak preview of little Shyla. She and her older sister Josie have been wonderful models for several of my paintings. This was our visit to Ella's corral full of spring lambs. Look for some of my new paintings featuring these wonderful babies!

And yes, I had a ball in the corral also!
I am so grateful because God has blessed us with so much!
